Fedora: Forever 21 and forever in my closet until this night.
I really love wearing navy and as dark and rich as it can be, when worn incorrectly, it can be too harsh for Spring. In order to wear this color well and keep it season appropriate, I've compiled a quick list:
1) Make sure you keep the rest of the color palette light. Pairing navy with golds, creams, champagnes and even white is fresh.
2) Avoid colors like wine, hunter green and mustard as they can took too Fall.
3) Don't match navy eyeshadow to your navy clothing. As much as I am an advocate for monochromatic looks, this is just a major no-no.
As much as I love navy, I also love a good hat. Wearing a hat out takes a bit of courage. I bought a wool fedora from Forever 21 but never actually wore it, but on this particular night, I ran the idea by my best friend Sarah. Although I am fairly confident wearing trendy items, even I need a little validation from time to time. Her and I are practically sisters and I can always count on her to tell me the truth. It was really fun to wear out, as many other girls told me that they too have always wanted to wear a hat out, but never felt comfortable doing so.
Did guys understand this look? Not at all. I was asked if I was going to the Kentucky Derby or if I was Carmen Sandiego but little do they know, I consider those compliments.

If you want to incorporate this trend into your makeup, keep the technique simple, and avoid blending several shades of blue together. It is more high-fashion to have "rocker-style" slightly smudged eye makeup with a simple, nude/pale pink lip.
How I wore the look:
Moreeee Pam! More!
